Finding My Way to the Porch

I didn’t arrive at The Porch because life went according to plan.
I arrived here because it didn’t.
Every loss, every unexpected turn, every season of uncertainty taught me something about grace, resilience, faith, and beginning again.
Somewhere along the way, I realized that my story wasn’t just something I had survived.
It could become something I could share.
Maybe someone else needed to know they weren’t the only one.
Maybe someone needed permission to start over.
Maybe someone needed to laugh.
Maybe someone needed to cry.
Maybe someone simply needed to hear:
“You can make it through this.”
And that’s how the idea for The Southern Porch Collective began.
The porch became more than a place.
It became a picture of what I wanted to create—a place where people could come exactly as they are.
No pretending.
No perfect lives required.
Just stories, faith, encouragement, laughter, and a little room to breathe.

Starting Over

New chapters rarely begin the way we imagined.

Sometimes starting over is a choice. Sometimes life makes the choice for us.

Either way, beginning again can feel exciting, overwhelming, lonely, and a little scary—all at the

same time. You may not have the whole path figured out. You may simply know that something

needs to change.

Here, you’ll find practical wisdom, honest stories, and soulful encouragement for navigating

life’s transitions and finding your footing again.

Whether you’re rebuilding after loss, making a major life change, rediscovering yourself, or

simply wondering, “What do I do now?”—you don’t have to have it all figured out to take the

next step.

You can begin again. You can take your time. And you can create a life that feels like yours.

Find Direction. Take the Next Step. Begin Again.
